Whirley Ball

Whirlyball

Illinois

In our newlywed stage of life, we ventured out with some other couples to play Whirlyball. This is a place that is kind of like an amusement park, arcade, and bar wrapped up into one. In Illinois there are three Whirlyball locations. There is one in Chicago, Lombard, and Vernon Hills. Whirlyball is a competitive game that combines lacrosse, hockey, basketball, and bumper cars. Your group divides up into teams of five and uses hand held scoops to throw whiffle balls at targets while operating a bumper car. There is a trained referee. Whirlyball was fun, although I had major bruising on the insides of my thighs from my legs crashing into the gear shift of the bumper car that is located between your legs. You need reservations ahead of time to reserve the whirlyball court and all players need to be older than 12 years old. The whirly ball facility has food, a bar, games, catering, and offers party packages. Some locations offer lasertron or a indoor rock climbing wall.
