Lake Geneva Wisconsin

Lake Geneva
Wisconsin
Before we had kids, my husband and I went to Lake Geneva a couple of times. This is a small, well known town that is centered around the lake and has much history and money. If you visit Lake Geneva, there is a variety of lodging options to pick from. There are bed & breakfasts, cabins & cottages, campgrounds, rental homes and condos, hotels, motels, and resorts. All of the lodging options are privately owned. There are not any "chain" hotels, such as Marriott, Best Western, our Super 8. There are quite a few dining options in Lake Geneva, from fancy to informal. There is shopping, although most of the shops are speciality shops. In the middle of town, there is a beach on Lake Geneva. It is nice. There are four other beaches considered to be nearby. On Lake Geneva there is a cruise line that you can take a narrated tour around the lake. While on the large paddle boat, you can see all the magnificent mansions and homes on the lake and hear historical tales. There is much boating on Lake Geneva and there are places that you can rent different types of boats and water sports. You can go out on a wave runner or go para sailing. There is much history in Lake Geneva. There are some fun facts, such as William Bell & Lee Phillips created the daytime soap Young & The Restless while living in Lake Geneva. They set the daytime drama in the nearby town of Genoa City. Hugh Hefner also chose Lake Geneva as the home for the Playboy Club & Resort, which is now the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa.
