If you have small children and are looking for a fun place for a day trip in the Green Bay Wisconsin area, then Bay Beach is it. Bay Beach is an amusement park owned by the city of Green Bay. It is open from May until October 1st every year. It is a wonderful place to go to for an hour or a whole day. Bay Beach is a large park that contains rides, 2 playground areas, picnic areas, and an indoor pavilion building that serves food & snacks and houses an arcade. Bay Beach has a nice amount of kiddie rides for smaller children. There is a carousel, a train ride, helicopters, pony rides, cars, airplanes, tiny jeeps, ladybug ride and a granny bug ride. There are also some bigger rides such as a tilt-a-whirl, a scrambler, scat, bumper cars, flying swings, ferris wheel, and a giant slide. This amusement park is wonderful, because it is not to big and overwhelming. It is a perfect size if you have small kids. Another great thing is that the prices for tickets to go on the rides are very cheap. It is 25 cents per ticket. Most rides take 1 ticket and a few of the bigger rides take 2 tickets. We usually take our kids there once or twice a summer. When we go we purchase $10 worth of tickets and that lasts our two older children for the whole time we are there. It is great. The pony rides do cost extra. You have to pay cash at the pony ride booth. It is only like $2.00 per rider. We usually spend a few hours at Bay Beach and the kids always love it. We usually purchase food in the pavilion. They offer hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, ice cream, grilled cheese, soft pretzels, nachos, etc.... There is also plenty of picnic tables, if you bring your own food. When we run out of tickets, the kids usually play on the playground equipment. There is always lots of other kids there to play with. Bay Beach is always clean, well kept, and safe. I am able to manage taking our 3 kids there by myself. I have heard that during the evenings, later at night, that there are more teenagers there hanging out. The city does provide security to look over the park at night. We have always gone during the day and it has always been nice and filled with families.
